Orchard Park, NY - Buffalo Exterminating, Western New York's largest, locally-owned pest management company, has a new weapon in its arsenal of services for fighting bed bugs with the addition of a mobile heat chamber. The new heat chamber is specifically designed and equipped to eliminate bed bugs and their eggs in infested items such as furniture, bedding, and other personal property by heating items inside the chamber to temperatures of 122° F. According to the National Pest Management Association, bed bugs and their eggs are killed when exposed to temperatures over 122° F. This mobile heat chamber provides an additional tool to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of structural bed bug control programs.
The 12' long by 6' wide chamber can accommodate a wide range of items including sofas, chairs, mattresses and box springs, and other wood and upholstered furniture. It can also be used to treat personal property such as clothing, books, decorative items, paper files, luggage, and accessories. For businesses, retail stores and offices, Buffalo Exterminating's heat chamber can be used on office furniture, desks, file cabinets, cubicle walls and other equipment. Computer-monitored heating assures the appropriate temperature levels are achieved to kill bed bugs and their eggs, and the chamber's trailer-mounted design gives it the mobility to be used on-site at the customer's location.
"Buffalo Exterminating long ago recognized the growing problem of bed bugs in Western New York and our mobile heat chamber is another example of the technology we are investing in to fight them," explained John Zimmerman, general manager. "Now we can offer both residential and commercial customers another convenient solution that can effectively kill bed bugs, even those that can't be seen, hiding deep inside furniture and other property."
The new mobile heat chamber service is offered by the company's Bed Bug Unit, a group of trained technicians dedicated exclusively to eliminating bed bugs, using cutting-edge technology. The Bed Bug Unit offers complete services from prevention and identification training for staff and residents, to canine inspections to verify the existence of bed bugs to elimination of inspections and ongoing inspections and control.
John Zimmerman noted the heat chamber service is ideal for residents purchasing used furniture, moving into a new home, returning furniture from a college dorm, or bringing luggage or other personal items back from a trip or vacation. Businesses such as hotels and motels, retail establishments and other companies can use the mobile heat chamber service as part of ongoing bed bug control and prevention programs.
